How to Use Windows Help

The Microsoft Help and Support begins development early in the project life-cycle. As bugs are found, the development staff determines which bugs they will fix and which ones they will give a work-around for. Each application and function that is created has a help file associated with it. As the development cycle enters the Beta stage, beta testers flood the Microsoft team with questions requests, and more bugs. All of this information is stored, and more help files are created as needed.

Instructions

1. Click on the "Start" button located on your taskbar.

2. Select "Help and Support." The "Windows Help and Support" window will open.

3. Type keywords of your question in the "Search Help" search box, and press the enter key. Example: "format hard drive." A menu of help articles will appear.

4. Select the item from the list that most looks like what you are looking for. Follow the directions of the article.
