Instructions

    • 1

Pour the hair relaxer into a container and mix it well. Make sure there are no lumps in the mixture.

    • 2

Wrap a towel around your shoulders to protect your clothing. Prepare a wet towel to wipe any relaxer off of your skin, if necessary.

    • 3

Isolate a small section of hair near the base of your neck. Clip the rest of hair out of the way.

    • 4

Apply a generous amount of hair relaxer to the isolated section, near the scalp. Use the back of a wide-toothed comb to spread the relaxer down towards the tips.

    • 5

Wait seven minutes to allow the relaxer to work.

    • 6

Smooth out your hair, making sure that it is completely straight.

    • 7

Wet your hair and apply neutralization solution to stop the relaxing process. Wait two minutes.

    • 8

Lather well, and rinse. Check the area to make sure that your scalp and hair are not harmed. If they are not, complete the relaxing process.

    • 9

Separate your hair into four sections: back, top and two sides.

    • 10

Relax each section as you did on the test section, starting from the back, then moving to the sides and front. Save the sensitive hairline sections for last.

    • 11

When you have completed the four sections, repeat the process to relax the rest of your hair.

Tips & Warnings

  • Do not apply the relaxer when you are in a rush. Carve out a large chunk of time the first time you apply the relaxer.

  • Use gloves when handling the relaxer. Rinse relaxer from your hair thoroughly, especially around your ears and neck.
