How to Remove Bluetooth From XP SP2
Bluetooth is a wireless technology that connects objects like laptops, printers and hand-held components. With the increasing use of wireless technologies, Bluetooth has been programmed into operating systems such as Windows XP Service Pack 2. However, for some network administrators, Bluetooth leaves security risks on corporate computers. These steps show you how to remove Bluetooth from a Windows XP Service Pack installation.

Click on the Windows "Start" button and choose "Control Panel." This opens the Control Panel.

Double-click "Device Manager." From the list of devices, click the "plus" sign next to "Bluetooth Radios." This expands the tree to show all the devices associated with Bluetooth technology.

Uninstall Bluetooth devices. Right-click on the devices listed under the "Bluetooth Radios" and choose "Uninstall." After uninstalling all the components, close Device Manager.

Rename INF files. On your desktop, double-click the "My Computer" icon. In the list of drives, double-click the "C:\" icon. Double-click the "Windows" directory, and then double-click the "Inf" directory.

Find the following files in the directory "C:\Windows\Inf" that you just opened:
Bth.inf
Bth.pnfRight-click each file and select "Rename." Rename each file to "Bth.inf.old" and "Bth.pnf.old" respectively.

Restart the computer.
