A vintage silk piece is a unique accent that adds special, custom flare to any outfit. Learn how and when you can add your vintage silk wrap to your outfit for the best possible effects.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Decorative pin
  1. Step 1

Wear your silk wrap as a simple over-the-shoulder accent. Whether you pair it with an evening gown or classy jeans and a top, as a shoulder wrap a vintage silk is always in style for both day and night fashion. Before you wear it out, check the weather and avoid wearing it if rain or other precipitation is in the forecast.

  2. Step 2

Use your wrap as a neck scarf. Wrap the scarf a few times around your neck and layer with a jacket or a nice coat for a burst of color. Loose ruffled fabric is fine when paired with outerwear as the jacket flaps will hold the scarf in place.

  3. Step 3

Add style to your business apparel by tying your vintage wrap like a necktie. Wrap the scarf around the back of your neck, cross the right over the left and in a full circle around the back. Tie your scarf exactly as you would a man's tie; take this tail and bring it up toward your face, before pulling it down through the loop created a moment before. Adjust the tail lengths. Both asymmetry and symmetry are stylish.

  4. Step 4

Try wrapping your silk piece around the neck and leaving the tails to hang down your back for a classy occasion. This works with dresses, but can also be perfect with the right outfit for a night on the town as it creates a classy highlight to your neck while leaving the back bare.

  5. Step 5

Use a nice pin to wear your vintage silk wrap around your shoulders, which allows you to experiment with angles. Try wrapping the scarf around your shoulders, and bring the fabric to overlap on one side of your chest. Next, take a decorative pin and carefully secure the wrap to your top.
