How to Create an Email Marketing List
Building an email list is one of the most important things you can do to improve the success of your online business. There are many different tactics, and it's important that you comply with all laws and regulations as well as other established best practices. It's not the size of an email list that matters; it's how qualified and interested the people are that are on your list. Email lists should focus on quality over quantity.

1
Find a reputable email service provider. You will need an ESP to handle many tasks and to improve the quality of your campaign. You'll also be able to place email signups on your website to find more list members.
-
2
Place your email sign-up on a highly visible place of your website. It should be "above the fold," which means that it's high enough on the web page that a visitor won't need to scroll down to find it.
-
-
3
Place your email sign-up on every single page of your website. Just having it on one page will limit how many prospects and list members you can find.
-
4
Offer visitors something of value to get them to sign up for your list. You can provide a weekly tips newsletter, special discounts or other incentives.
-
5
Search for email list members offline. If you have a physical storefront, you can add your customers to the list. You can also find list members at conferences, local events and anywhere else that people may be interested in your business.
-
6
Segment your list into different groups, which will allow you to test different versions of your emails to see which performs better and offer more specific information to targeted groups of people.
