How to Make a Goose Rag Decoy
Goose hunting, a fun and exciting pastime, can be as expensive or inexpensive as you want to make it. With the rising cost of shotgun shells, camouflage, calls and tags, no wonder some hunters make their own decoys as a cost-saving measure. A "rag goose decoy" means simply that: Rags pinned to a stick in an effort to entice high-flying flocks of geese to circle and come in closer. The wind catches the rags, creating lifelike movement and shapes. Decoys made of rags are lightweight and easy to set up. You can make a few hundred rag goose decoys for pennies on the dollar.

Tips & Warnings
Place rag decoys among other full-body decoys. When the geese fly in closer, they'll be able to pick out details a bit better. Placing only rag decoys might spook the geese as they approach.
