How to Report Fraud on Craigslist
Craigslist--started by Craig Newmark in 1995--is an online classified site which allows people to list jobs, products, real estate, services, and more, in order to reach an audience in their area. Most listings are free to post, and many people have been able to make a part-time income selling items on Craigslist. Because Craigslist is almost entirely user-driven and user-monitored, it is the job of users to report any suspected fraud found on the site.

Click on the Craigslist ad in question. Ads are single-line text links in various categories. Clicking on a text link will open up the ad.

Click on the appropriate "flag" link. Flags are text links located in a box in the upper right-hand corner. Possibilities for flagging are "miscategorized," "prohibited," "spam/overpost," and "best of craigslist."
For cases of suspected fraud, click "prohibited." This will alert the Craigslist team to investigate this ad.

If you suspect fraud as a result of a Craigslist seller emailing you, go back to the ad and flag it.

Forward any suspicious emails to support@craigslist.com, along with an explanation as to why you suspect the ad in question is fraudulent.

report it to the site and to your local police do not give out ssn numbers or personal information they may use your email account against you and post fraud emails I would also get a hold of your email adminastrator and report the fraud as well. Be safe when opening up craigslist emails if it looks fishy it is report report report is the jey word report also a dead give a way if it is a yahoo account or a rocketmail account or a ymail account do not I mean do not reply back they deskys them selves as people they are crooks report this to craigslist and keep flagging no matter what... thanks

Just had a scam come in via phone. Caller identified himself as "Alex" although had a heavy Middle Eastern accent. Said he was calling from the budweiser Corp. Hdqt. Said a man named Steven King would come next day about 11am with T-shirts for all staff. Said an automated call would be next with a code. Sure enough a "craigslist code" was the next call-automated.Then "Alex" called back asking for the code.....I called Budweiser....scam.
