Instructions

    • 1

Open your garage door fully and wipe any loose debris off the bottom edge of the door.

    • 2

Clear away all debris and dirt from 2 inches on each side of where the door touches the ground when it is closed. Wash away any dirt with soap and water, if necessary, and allow the ground to dry.

    • 3

Follow the instructions for sizing your threshold provided with your kit. The threshold should be the exact size of your open garage door. Most thresholds can be trimmed to size with a utility knife.

    • 4

Once the area is clean and dry, place the threshold in the doorway and lower the garage door. Adjust the threshold as necessary so that the hump of the threshold is up against the inside of the garage door, forming a tight seal.

    • 5

Trace a line with your pencil outlining the threshold on the inside of the door. Do the same on the outside of the door.

    • 6

Raise the garage door and remove the threshold.

    • 7

Apply the adhesive that came with the kit to the area in between the pencil lines. Use a zigzag pattern in order to maximize surface adhesion. Then apply two straight lines of adhesive on the inside of the outline, one next to each pencil line.

    • 8

Carefully place the threshold onto the outline, taking care to keep it aligned correctly. Apply pressure to maximize adhesion.

    • 9

Close the garage door gently, taking care to not let the threshold be shifted off the outline by the door's movement.

    • 10

Allow the adhesive to dry according to the manufacturer's recommendations before driving any cars over the threshold. 18 to 24 hours is typical.

Tips & Warnings

  • Clean the floor well so that the adhesive will last a long time.
