Tune a Half-Step Down w/ Standard Tuner
Tune a Half-Step Down w/ Standard Tuner

One important part of playing the guitar is finding ways to produce different tones and notes. One way is to change the tuning of the strings. This article will show you a way to tune your guitar a half-step down.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Capo
  • Standard tuner
  1. Step 1

Place the capo on the very first fret of your guitar. Make sure that it is holding down all strings.

  2. Step 2

Turn on the tuner and pluck the 6th string. You can see that the 6th string is way out of tune. So, of course, tune the string to match the tuner. Pluck the 5th string to match the tuner. Start again on the 4th string and work your way down to the 6th string.

  3. Step 3

Take of your capo and it should be tuned a half-step down. If you want to switch from Eb Ab Db Gb Bb Eb to E A D G B E, just put the capo back onto the first fret.
