Viva Las Vegas! How do you go to Vegas without going broke? Well, read on and you will find the answers.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Walking shoes, Self-Control
  1. Step 1

Before you get to Vegas: GET A BUDGET! Budgeting is very important. So, you will need to plan your budget. Plan for Food, Transportation, Accomodations, Gambling Money, Spending Money for Shopping or Souviners and such, Tip Money, etc.

  2. Step 2

Stick to your budget. Set aside a certain amount of money for gambling and have a set amount that you can spend and then you HAVE TO QUIT UNTIL TOMORROW. Be very faithful to your budget.

  3. Step 3

Rent a Car or Get a Bus Pass. Renting a car was the best thing for our trip as we wanted to see Hoover Dam and other places outside of the city. If you are just planning on staying within the strip or downtown, get the buss pass.

  4. Step 4

Look for GREAT Food Specials. Downtown is famous for having pretty inexpensive food. Terrible's Casino has very reasonable prices for their food as well. Don't go to the buffet every time. There are Deli's and other places to eat affordably. Vegas has a Subway, Chipotle, and McDonalds which are all on the strip. If you do go to the buffet, try only going at lunch as it is much cheaper. Just keep your eye out as you are out and about and you will find great food deals.

  5. Step 5

Sign up for the Casino players cards as some give you a few dollars to play on for signing up!

  6. Step 6

Depending on the time you have and if you have children, in order to save money you may consider sitting through a timeshare presentation. They do take 90 minutes but some of them allow you to get really good stuff for going. Just make sure to say NO, unless you really are interested in buying a timeshare.

  7. Step 7

Consider doing other activities besides gambling, atleast every now and then. Hoover Dam isn't too far away from Vegas and it's neat to see. There are discount malls around, movie theaters, and a free pirates show at Treasure Island. There are inexpensive things to do in Vegas. The Belligio has a fountain show that you can see in the evening and it's free! Take a picture at the FAMOUS Las Vegas Signs. Check out the Statues at Ceasuers Palace.

  8. Step 8

Take advanatage of your hotels amenities. Spend time enjoying the hotel if it's nice. Many have swimming pools that are amazing. And if you don't have a pool then a lot of the casinos have pool parties that you can attend for free.

  9. Step 9

Drinks. Don't pay full price for your drink if you are at the casino playing. Find a waitress/waitor and order your drink. They will bring it to you free of charge (usually), and just be sure to give them a nice tip and they will keep your drinks coming!

  10. Step 10

Shows. Shows can be expensive, so there are a few discount ticket places around town. There is one located downtown, and one located a little past the Harley Davidson cafe on the strip. The catch is you have to go early but you can get a great discount on tickets. The store is called Tix 4 tonight. You can check them out at www.tix4tonight.com

  11. Step 11

Special Dinners. Tix 4 Tonights also have half price dinners that you can buy. So, you might check those out while you are out and about.

  12. Step 12

    Have Fun!
