Step 1
The first thing you need to look at is key word density on the subject you are writing about.Your key words need to target your web site visitors who are looking to buy a product or get information about your web site. Some of these key words need to be put in your meta tags of the web page. If your writing or selling golf products then golf and golf products need to be in your meta tags.Make sure to limit each web page to 2 to 3 keywords or keyword phrases that match the content of the page.
-
Step 2
Search engine spiders look for key words on your page to match them up with folks that are searching the web for products and services. This is all part of good web site design so that search engine spiders can completely index your web pages. The title in the meta tags needs to match the web page content with a good short description,it should not be to long.If your page is about putting ,an example of the title could be,"how to be a better putter".Each page needs to have a different title to match the content of the page.
-
Step 3
Make sure each web page has key words that relate to the type of product or service that you are promoting but don't over use that key word, this is important.Search engine spiders do not like key word stuffing on a page. You can use a similar key word or phrase to explain the same content.Make sure to link, hyperlink anchor text,to different articles on your pages if they have similar content .Readers and search engines love this and it make for easy navigation with in your web site. You should also link your pages from your home page so the spiders can follow your web pages to direct people to the right page they are searching for. Make sure to check your links you do not want broken links on your web pages this is not good.
