How to Make a Candy Rose

Save

Candy is almost always a welcome gift, but you can make it more attractive by making a candy rose. A whole bouquet can be made using different colors of tissue paper to add color, or you could make a dozen long stemmed roses for someone special to enjoy. A few roses stuck into a coffee mug filled with candy is a good all-occasion gift. Older children can make their own roses to give to loved ones as well.

Things You'll Need

  • Chocolate kisses
  • Red tissue paper
  • Silk leaves
  • Wood skewer
  • Clear tape
  • Florist's tape
  • Place 2 chocolate kisses together with the flat bottoms touching. Secure them together with a loop of clear tape.

  • Layer 3 squares of red tissue paper that are each approximately 6 x 6 inches. Drape over the top of the kisses and twist around the point of the bottom kiss to secure.

  • Place a wooden skewer alongside the wrapped kisses, lining the tip of the skewer next to the twisted end of tissue. Secure them together with clear tape.

  • Begin wrapping the skewer with green florist's tape. Begin above the skewer approximately 1/3 up the bottom kiss. Continue wrapping until 1/2 inch of the skewer is covered in tape.

  • Arrange 2 to 3 leaves against the skewer and wrap the tape around their stems to fasten them neatly to the skewer. Continue wrapping until the entire skewer is covered.
