MSN can be set as your homepage. If you sign up for a free MSN account, you can customize the site to fit your personal informational and entertainment needs. The page's format can be rearranged, new pages can be added, and the weather report will default to reflect the address on your MSN account. When signing up, you can also obtain a free Hotmail email account.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Go to the MSN website. Click on the "My MSN" link in the upper left-hand corner of the homepage.

  2. Step 2

Click on "Sign up" on the right-hand side of the new web page that opens. After you sign up, this is the page you can use to log in, using the form on the right side of the page.

  3. Step 3

Decide between using your existing email address or obtaining a free Hotmail email account. Click one of the choices.

  4. Step 4

Compete the form on the new page that opens. Enter your email address and create a password and security question. If later you forget your password, the security question will be needed to help reset a new password.

  5. Step 5

Type the squiggly letters and numbers you see in the form line that says "Characters" and click "Continue."

  6. Step 6

Compete the form on the new web page that opens. You will enter your birth date, gender, personal information, region and zip code.

  7. Step 7

Read the MSN agreement before continuing. If you agree, type in your email address and click "I Accept." After you accept, the new MSN account is created and you will be directed to the MSN website.
