How to Remove an Earthlink Toolbar

The Earthlink Toolbar is a free browser add-on that allows you to search for Web content such as news, weather reports, sports and stock tickers. The Earthlink Toolbar also sports security features such as a pop-up blocker, spyware scan and privacy tools. Despite all these features, you can remove this add-on and rid your Web browser of it if you have no use for it.

Instructions

1. Click "Start" on your computer screen, then click "Control Panel."

2. Double click the "Add or Remove Programs" icon to open the "Programs" window. Locate "Earthlink Toolbar" and click "Remove/Uninstall." Click "Uninstall" and reboot your computer when prompted.

3. If you don't see the Earthlink Toolbar in the "Programs" window, launch Internet Explorer and click "Tools" on the top menu. Click "Manage Add-Ons" and click "Earthlink Tools." Click "Remove" and restart your Web browser.

4. If you're using Mozilla Firefox, click "Tools" and click "Add-Ons." Click "Extensions" and click "Earthlink Toolbar."

5. Click "Uninstall" and restart your Web browser.

6. Double click "My Computer" on your desktop and double click the "C:" drive. Double click the "Program Files" folder and locate the "Earthlink" folder. Delete this folder and empty the "Recycle Bin."
