How to Remove an Earthlink Toolbar

The Earthlink Toolbar is a free browser add-on that allows you to search for Web content such as news, weather reports, sports and stock tickers. The Earthlink Toolbar also sports security features such as a pop-up blocker, spyware scan and privacy tools. Despite all these features, you can remove this add-on and rid your Web browser of it if you have no use for it.

Instructions
  1. Step 1

    Click "Start" on your computer screen, then click "Control Panel."

  2. Step 2

    Double click the "Add or Remove Programs" icon to open the "Programs" window. Locate "Earthlink Toolbar" and click "Remove/Uninstall." Click "Uninstall" and reboot your computer when prompted.

  3. Step 3

    If you don't see the Earthlink Toolbar in the "Programs" window, launch Internet Explorer and click "Tools" on the top menu. Click "Manage Add-Ons" and click "Earthlink Tools." Click "Remove" and restart your Web browser.

  4. Step 4

    If you're using Mozilla Firefox, click "Tools" and click "Add-Ons." Click "Extensions" and click "Earthlink Toolbar."

  5. Step 5

    Click "Uninstall" and restart your Web browser.

  6. Step 6

    Double click "My Computer" on your desktop and double click the "C:" drive. Double click the "Program Files" folder and locate the "Earthlink" folder. Delete this folder and empty the "Recycle Bin."
