Step 1

Locate the International Call Prefix and Country Dialing Code for the international location you will be calling. Most businesses provide these numbers in their contact information; however, personal telephone numbers may only contain the area code and telephone number.
Step 2

Dial the International Call Prefix first. This code is specific to each country.
Step 3

Enter the Country Dialing Code next. This number contains one to three digits, and varies by country as well as by whether the telephone number being called is for a cell phone or a land line.
Step 4

Enter the Area Code, also referred to as a City Code, next. This number also contains one to three digits and pertains to a certain location within a country.
Step 5

Dial the actual telephone number, which typically consists of seven digits.
