How to Post Videos on Metacafe

Metacafe is a video hosting site, much like YouTube. Not nearly as popular as YouTube, Metacafe is notable for being willing to host material that is suitable for only people ages 18 and over. Such videos would be removed from YouTube due to their terms of service, but thrive on Metacafe. If you have videos that you think would fit perfectly with the rest of the content on Metacafe, use this article as a guide as you upload them.

Instructions

1. Point your web browser to Metacafe. You can do this by typing http://www.metacafe.com into the address bar and hitting the "Enter" key on your keyboard.

2. Click the "Sign In" button located at the top of the Metacafe web page. You will be prompted to log in to your Metacafe account. If you don't have one, you can register for one from this same page. It is free to join, and you only need to input your name and email address; other information is optional.

3. Click the "Submit" button located at the top of the Metacafe web page.

4. Tell Metacafe which video file on your computer you want to upload to your account. You can do this by clicking on the "Find" button in the center of the "Submit" page and locating the file on your hard drive.

5. Click "Upload". This will upload the file from your computer to the Metacafe server. Depending on your Internet connection and the size of the file, this could take anywhere from a few seconds to a few hours. You will then be prompted to title the video and give it a few keywords so viewers can locate it. Once this is done the video will be on Metacafe for all to see.
