How to Install a Portable AC

A portable AC is easy to setup and turn on, but before you do, you need to know how to install a portable AC with a vent. You need to vent the AC to an exterior location. This can be done in one of three ways. Two of these ways take a little time, while the third way is the easiest to do.

Instructions

1. 

   Choose a location for the portable AC close to a window. Open the window just wide enough so that the slide the window strip inside the gap. Slip the strip into the window and close the window down on the strip.

2. 

   Place the two ends on each end of the exhaust hose. Snap the skinny oblong end on the window strip and attach the smaller square end on the back of the AC unit.

3. Turn the portable AC on by plugging it into the outlet and turning on the switch.

Tips & Warnings

• If you need a longer window strip, you can find one at your local hardware store. You can vent the exhaust through a patio door if you do not want to vent it in a window.

• Remember to empty the drain pan daily.
