Things You'll Need:
- Screwdriver Bucket of water Clean, lint free rag

Step 1
Loosen and remove the screws holding the filter to the intake pipe. The screws are actually part of a hose clamp that you will have to slide off the neck of the intake filter.

Remove the air filter from the intake pipe.

Step 3
Gently clean the entrance of the intake pipe with a clean, lint-free rag. Do not allow any debris to enter the intake pipe.

Tap all the loose dirt off the air filter.

Fill a bucket with enough water to cover the filter up to the filter neck, but not above it.

Step 6
Add 12 ounces of the AEM filter cleaning solution to the water.

Step 7
Submerge the filter in the water with the cleaning solution up to the filter neck. Don't let water flow through the filter neck.

Step 8
Let the filter soak for 10 minutes.

Step 9
Rotate the filter in the water by rotating it back and forth to remove any remaining dirt and debris.

Step 10
Remove the filter from the water and dump out the dirty water.

Step 11
Repeat steps 5 through 10

Step 12
Take the filter out of the water, allow it to air dry and reinstall the filter. Installation is the reverse of removal.
