Planning the seating arrangement for your wedding reception ensures that no one is left sitting alone or that those who do not get along are not forced to share a table during the festivities. Place cards are used to help direct your guests to their seats with minimal fuss or confusion. You can make wedding place cards easily and inexpensively that will complement your wedding decor. They take little time to make.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Cardstock Scissors Ruler Decorative paper Decorative edge scissor Gel pen Glue stick Hole punch Ribbon
  1. Step 1

Measure and cut your cardstock into 4 by 3 inch rectangles.

  2. Step 2

Fold each rectangle in half so that it is 2 by 3 inches and forms a tent that can be set on the table near the place setting.

  3. Step 3

Punch a hole through both layers of the folded cardstock in each of the corners near the open end of the tent.

  4. Step 4

Cut a 2.5 by 1.5 inch rectangle from the decorative paper with decorative edge scrapbooking scissors. These scissors come in several designs that will leave behind a pretty edge on the paper.

  5. Step 5

Center the decorative paper on the front of the cardstock tent and glue in place with a glue stick.

  6. Step 6

Write the guests name in the center of the decorative paper with a gel pen. Gel pens are available where scrapbooking supplies are sold and come in many colors including metallics such as silver and gold.

  7. Step 7

Cut a 10 inch length of fabric ribbon. Thread it through a hole in the corner through the front of the tent and out the hole in the back of tent. Pass it back through the opposite hole on the back of the tent and through the hole in the front of the tent.

  8. Step 8

Arrange the ribbon so the ends are even. Open the tent so that it stands. Tie the ribbon in front of the place card in a pretty bow. The ribbon will keep the card from collapsing flat.
