How to Decorate a Halloween Vest

Haunt the resale shops for a suit vest or pick up a vest ready to decorate at a hobby store.

• Buttons
• Beads
• Ironing Boards
• Irons
• Needles
• Paper-backed Fusible Webbing
• Threads
• Scissors
• Scissors
• felt (orange, green, brown)
• appliqués

1. Gather materials: paper-backed fusible web, felt, appliqué paint, buttons, beads and the decorations you wish to attach to your vest.

2. Rinse appliqué felt by hand in cool water and let dry.

3. Iron the fusible web to the pieces of felt, leaving the paper side up.

4. Draw all sizes of circles on the paper side of the fusible web and cut.

5. Draw and cut brown stems and all sizes of green leaves.

6. Arrange pumpkin appliqués on the vest.

7. Remove the paper backing from one piece at a time and iron into place.

8. Continue until all the pieces are attached to the vest.

9. Squeeze a thin line of paint around the edge of the appliqué.

10. Attach buttons or beads for eyes.

11. Use green paint to draw vines connecting all the pumpkins.

12. Paint extra leaves and brown curlicues on the vines to create a pumpkin patch look.

13. Let dry for 24 hours and enjoy wearing your vest.

• Have adult supervision when using a hot iron.
