"Have a Nice Day" is a phrase synonymous with the smiley face.

Slight variations of the smiley face will change the emotions and the look of this recognizable image. Since the birth of the smiley in 1964, the simplistic cartoon figure became the symbol for peace and happiness. Give the smiley a new attitude by drawing a frown, or an open circle for a surprised look. Modify the eyes to look crossed-eyed for a crazy expression. Even changing the color from yellow, to red or green will represent anger or envy.

      Draw a circle. Smiley faces come in all sizes and there is no need to limit the size.

      Draw two small circles for eyes. The circles can be filled in or left hollow.

      Draw an upturned line to represent a smile.

    • 4

      Add a shorter upturned line below the smile to signify the double chin.

    • 5

      Color the smiley face with a yellow crayon or marker.
