Racing helmets are used by race car drivers and motorcyclists. They're made of hard plastics and foam, with a wide and clear visor around the front. Racing helmets are simple to draw, with round shapes and oval ventilation holes.

  1. Step 1
Draw the outline of the racing helmet
Draw the outline of the racing helmet

Study the image of the racing helmet provided at the link in the Resources section below. Draw the outline of the racing helmet, which is rounded at the top, and angles diagonally up and to the left at the bottom.

  2. Step 2
Draw the outline of the racing helmet visor

Draw the outline of the racing helmet visor. The visor of a racing helmet is integrated, so it's basically the same shape as the racing helmet, with a small bump in the top left corner. This is where the racing helmet is hinged.

  3. Step 3
Draw the details on the inside of the racing helmet

Draw the details on the inside of the racing helmet. Draw a zig-zag shape down the side of the helmet, about three centimeters from the left side. Draw a sun visor, about two centimeters wide, along the top of the visor. The inside of the racing helmet is lined with foam, so draw a few concentric rings around the inside of the visor. In the top left corner, draw a figure 8.

  4. Step 4
Draw the ventilation holes in the racing helmet

Draw the ventilation holes in the racing helmet. There are four oval ventilation holes, two spaced out evenly above the visor, and two on top of each other on the side and below the visor. There is also a circular ventilation hole next to the bottom left corner of the racing helmet's visor.

  5. Step 5
Shade in the inside of the racing helmet
