How to Remove Application Tracking Cookies
A tracking cookie is a small text file that is stored by your Internet browser. The cookie is used to track your browsing behavior. Tracking cookies are stored in different places depending on the type of browser. You can remove cookies from your system by deleting temporary files or by using third-party programs to delete the files.

Use a third-party program to delete cookies and browsing history from multiple Internet browsers. One program that can do this is called CCleaner (see Resources). After downloading, open the program from the icon on the desktop and make sure "Cookies" is checked for all browsers in the Windows and Applications tabs. Click on the "Run Cleaner" button to delete cookies and other temporary files.

4
Use an anti-spyware program such as Spybot--Search and Destroy and Ad-Aware (see Resources) to locate and delete unnecessary tracking cookies. An anti-spyware program will scan a system and locate all files, including tracking cookies, that may be harmful and mark them for deletion.

5
Use a third-party program to prevent websites from storing a cookie. SpywareBlaster (see Resources) is a program that can be used to block harmful sites from loading by blocking cookies from being stored on your computer system. Open the program and click "Enable All Protection" to prevent cookies from being saved by supported browsers.

Tips & Warnings
Not all cookies are bad. A cookie can be used to store information such as your user name and password for a website so that you don't have to log in each time you visit the site.
Websites that are dependent on having a cookie being stored by the browser may not work properly or even load if you remove their cookies from your system or don't allow them to place cookies in your system.
