If you're looking to print a map of the United States from your computer, there are several high quality images available online.

• PC with internet connection
• Printer stocked with ink cartridges

Instructions

1. 

   For the best, high quality printable maps of the United States, go no further than www.nationalatlus.gov. National Atlus is an official government website (hence the .gov suffix) with all sorts of high quality maps.

2. National Atlus has printable maps of the United States for every need: some with the states left blank (if you're printing them out as a work sheet), a map with the states' capital cities, even a map of the rivers and lakes.

3. Once you've found the map that you're looking for, right click on "Print PDF Map" and save it somewhere on your computer (try My Documents). The PDF file will be large (1-9mb), which means it won't get distorted if you stretch it out and print it onto an extra large piece of paper.

Tips & Warnings

• For help learning the states and their capitals, print out one map with the labels, and one unlabeled. Try and fill out as many as possible (without cheating!)
