Things You'll Need:
- a cat anti flea shampoo (though not a must...)
- a basin or very shallow bucket.
- a thin comb.
- a flea spray
- salt
- a vaccum cleaner
- a wash machine
-
Step 1
get rid of ticks on cats now!How to get rid of fleas and ticks on cats:
first, you really have to be sure that your cat has fleas. To do so, simply take a cloth & wet it. Then dab it against your cats fur. If the cloth comes out red or brown, then your cat has fleas. Lots of fleas. Because if the fleas have already been sucking at your cat, then the fleas will leave flea feces (flea poo) behind. -
Step 2
Quarentine your cat to one room. No matter how hard this might be, you have to manage it one way or another. Make sure the fleas stay in that room with your cat, if it isn't to late...
entertain your cat, through play, toys and other. Hopefully you will quickly be killing fleas and your cat will soon join you again! -
Step 3
Fill the shallow basin with some water and then holding onto the scruff of your cats neck, gently dip her inside. You can also wash your cat under the tap, though you may encounter difficulties here....
-
Step 4
After drying your little cat, sitt it down between your legs and start the work of combing it out. First tackle one half of its hairs before brushing through to remove the fleas and ticks from the other half. Brush slowly and regularly, trying not to pull out any hairs. If there still are some consistent ticks, then use a pair of pincers to pull them out!
-
Step 5
When pulling ticks out of your cats furr, you must be very careful to avoid leaving the head of the tick inside, as this will cause infections, some of them deadly.
When pulling out a tick, take a lighter and hold it near her or his fur.
Beware to part his or her fur BEFORE lighting the lighter. When the fire comes near the tick, it will roll up and be easy to remove. -
Step 6
Some people say to rub a cat in salt will get rid of all fleas and ticks immediatly! Well, ticks might not appreciate salt, and die; but your cat will immediatly lick it off again. Maybe it will work for a few minutes.
Salt is a good solution to kill fleas, but not to prevent them. -
Step 7
