Trying to promote your article? Submit it to Google! It only makes sense that if you want to increase your blog or article's exposure that you should submit it to the largest search engine in the world.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Internet Access
  • Completed Blog, Website Or Article
  1. Step 1

Obviously, the first step in this process is to create your website or webpage. This can be an ehow.com article, a self-made blog, a business webpage, or basically anything with a web address.

You can even submit your Facebook, Twitter, or Myspace page if you want to, but eventually Google's crawler will come across your webpage and automatically submit it.

  2. Step 2

Once you have picked out the website or websites that you would like to submit, simply go over to google's URL (or website link) submission page and add it into the URL box. www.google.com/addurl

  3. Step 3

Make sure that you include 5-8 keywords in the comments box to help Google correctly classify your article into pertinent categories.

  4. Step 4

Make sure to include the entire web address, including the "http://".

  5. Step 5

Submitting your articles over and over again will not make them any more likely to show up higher in Google's search results.

Also, Google's web crawler will EVENTUALLY find your article, but if you want to make sure that your article is getting maximum exposure as soon as possible, then this is a good first step to take.

Tips & Warnings
  • Just an FYI, Google says; "We add and update new sites to our index each time we crawl the web, and we invite you to submit your URL here. We do not add all submitted URLs to our index, and we cannot make any predictions or guarantees about when or if they will appear."
