Lower Your Cholesterol Levels

High cholesterol levels are very unhealthy and can lead to heart attack, many health complications, and even death. If you want to lower your cholesterol levels this article will guide you in how to do it.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

The first step is to cut fast food out of your diet. When you are going to have a sandwich, hamburger, or anything on bread only eat whole wheat bread. White bread is full of starches and is not healthy for you.

  2. Step 2

The second step is to cut trans fats out of your diet. People now realize the dangers of these fats, in fact many food companies realize this as well and have taken them out of their products. They are still in some products that many people use however, margarine for example has high levels of trans fats.

  3. Step 3

The third step is to add Omega 3 fatty acids to your diet. You can get these by eating Salmon(it has to be wild caught though, farm raised does not have it). You can also take fish oil supplements which will lower your bad cholesterol levels.

  4. Step 4

The fourth step is to avoid eating fried foods. If you are making food at home then you want to grill or bake it instead of frying it. Fried foods will send your cholesterol levels through the roof.

  5. Step 5

The fifth step is to avoid eating sweets. Instead of having a cupcake, brownie, or a piece of cake opt for dark chocolate instead(not milk chocolate or white chocolate). Dark chocolate is very healthy and a great alternative to other types of sweets.
