How to Tie a Scarf Fashionably
Scarves continue to be hot in the fashion world. With a variety of fabrics and colors, scarves can add style to any outfit in every season. Reuters news service reports a trend of fashion designers targeting the needs of the aging baby boom generation, instead of what they've always done: Designing for young buyers and adjusting those styles for older generations. Wrap your scarf around your neck with the tails hanging down in front of you to create the "Tie" look. Cross the left tail over the right and then bring it up through that loop created around your neck.

Wrap the scarf around your neck so the tails are hanging down in front of you. Grasp both tails near your breastbone and create a loop with them and thread the tails through the loop to create the "Knot" style.

Wrap the scarf around your neck from the front to the back, so the tails are hanging behind you. Next, cross the tails behind your neck and let them hang down in front of you to create the "Wrap" style.

Fold your scarf in half diagonally so that it makes a triangle. Next, wrap the scarf around your shoulders and tie the two longest corners together. Slide the knot over your left shoulder to create the "Shawl" look.

Wrap your scarf around the back of your neck with the tails hanging down in front of you. Next, cross the right tail over the left tail and drape it behind your left shoulder to create the "Simple Wrap" look.

Fold the scarf in half diagonally, then take the shortest corner and make a fold about 2 inches wide. Continue to fold the scarf, rolling it up in itself until it looks like a 2 inch wide band. Wrap around your head and tie at the base of your neck to create a headband style.

Fold the scarf in half diagonally, then roll the scarf loosely from the longest flat edge of the triangle to the smallest corner. Wrap around your neck and tie at the back of your neck to get the "Twisted Wrap" look.
