Share Photos Privately on Facebook

Facebook is one of the hottest social networking sites around right now. It’s used for connecting with friends as well as sharing photos and a wealth of other information such as the articles written on EHOW. I personally use it to connect with my nephews in IRAQ and Afghanistan and they love seeing current family photos. However, there are some we don’t want the public to see so they are private. Here is how you, too, can share private photos on Facebook.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Computer with internet access
  • Facebook account
  • Photos
  1. Step 1

Create and album and upload your pictures to that album

  2. Step 2

    Click on “Privacy Settings”

  3. Step 3

    Click on Profile

  4. Step 4

Go to “Photos Tagged of You”. Under it you should see a hyperlink that reads “Edit Photo Albums Privacy Settings”. Click on it.

  5. Step 5

Each of your albums should show up. In the section that reads “Who can see this”, click on the arrow to see the options. Choose “Everybody” if you don’t care who on the internet sees your photos. Click on “friends” if you want only your Facebook Friends (those with whom you have accepted friendship) to see the photos.

  6. Step 6

For photos that you want only a few people to see, select “Customize”. Select “Me only” for pictures that are personal and for your own viewing pleasure. If you have photos for a select number of friends and not the entire list of friends or the world-wide-web, then customize a list and apply it to that folder. When you click on customize, click on “Some Friends”. Now select the friends you want to see those photos. It doesn’t matter if it’s just one person or five people. I have one setup just for family and it has pictures dating back to most of their birth.

  7. Step 7

Now make sure the custom list is selected to share private photos on Facebook.

on 9/11/2009 More people should know about this and use it, especially when they share photos of their children.

on 7/31/2009 this is good stuff. I wish I knew how to do the opposite. Sometimes, I just want to block pics or certain things from only a few people on the list. Any suggestions?/*****
