Instructions

    • 1

Pour Italian dressing over two 6-ounce rib-eye steaks. Sprinkle with tenderizer. Put the steaks in a plastic bag that you can seal and marinate at room temperature for 30 minutes.

    • 2

While the steaks are marinating, scrub two medium baking potatoes. Clean, scrape and cut three medium carrots into 2-inch lengths. Place the carrots in a plastic bag but do not close it. Put the potatoes and carrots in the microwave and partially cook them for five minutes.

    • 3

Remove potatoes and carrots from microwave. Be careful; vegetables will be hot. Slice one medium sweet onion. Wrap potatoes individually in aluminum foil. Put the carrots and onion with a pat of margarine or butter in another piece of aluminum foil and wrap. Place vegetables in gas grill.

    • 4

Turn on grill. Close grill lid. Let vegetables cook while grill is heating. Turn vegetables after six minutes. Cook the vegetables until tender. The heat inside the grill should level off at about 400 to 450 degrees Fahrenheit. If the vegetables get done before the steak, move them away from the heat to the cool end of the grill.

    • 5

Remove the steaks from the marinade. Salt and pepper to taste. Open the grill and place the steaks on the grill. Grill the steaks about eight minutes, turning once to produce a medium rare steak. If you like your steak well done or more rare, use more or less time.

    • 6

Remove the steak from the grill and let it rest for two to three minutes.

    • 7

Place the steak and vegetables on a platter. Serve with hot bread and salad.

Tips & Warnings

  • Use a crumpled piece of aluminum foil to do a quick cleaning of the grill.
