Step 1
Connections. Read the instructions packaged with the converter box. Determine if the connections are correct. Check to make sure everything is plugged in properly. Test the power button. Is anything blocking the power button? Check the remote control. Are the batteries fresh and working?

Step 2
Antenna. Check to see that the antenna is connected properly to the digital converter box. Extend the antenna fully. Try repositioning
the television antenna to pull in different stations. Make sure the antenna is connected to the converter box correctly. Also check the cable running from the converter box to the television. Make sure the connection is firm. -
Step 3
Rescan. After the digital transition many stations changed their frequency or location. Rescan all the television stations. And check
the television again. -
Step 4
New Antenna. some might need to upgrade to a new antenna or purchase a roof top antenna to pull in weak signals.

If you've went through all the previous steps and the digital signal is still weak or the set is not receiving any signals visit the dtv.gov website for more information.
