How to Update Garmin 350

Driving maps on the Nuvi 350 series GPS from Garmin can be easily updated by logging onto the Garmin website, downloading a plugin, and paying for updates.

Updating the 350 Maps

1. The Garmin Communicator Plugin is needed to check for Nuvi 350 updates. Browse to http://www8.garmin.com/products/communicator/ and select "Download." Press "Save File," choose a location, and save the program to your computer.

2. When the download is complete, open the Garmin program. Accept the license agreement and select "Next." Click this again to begin the installation.
   Wait for installation to finish and click "Done." Your browser will open, and the Garmin website should show that the plugin is installed. Click "Continue."

3. Connect the USB cable between your computer and the Nuvi 350 GPS. Wait a moment as the computer searches for the device.

4. The Garmin website should recognize the Nuvi 350. Click "Find Map Updates." All available map updates for the 350 will appear. Choose the map to install and select "Add to Cart."

5. After completing checkout to pay for your selected map, do not disconnect the Nuvi 350 from your computer. The map you selected will download and install to your GPS. This might take up to 2 hours. Once finished, this transfer will automatically update your Garmin's map.

Tips & Warnings

• These instructions are for users of Mozilla Firefox. Different browsers may have slightly different procedures for download, however the process is the same.
• Never disconnect your Nuvi 350 GPS while data is transfering. This could cause map problems and other negative issues.
