How to Convert Membership Rewards
Membership Rewards is American Express' premier benefit program for members, offering one point for every dollar that is charged to your card. Redeem points for gift cards, electronics, cameras, restaurant certificates, sports equipment, event tickets and travel accommodations. Points may also be converted to cash to pay your American Express bill or transferred as frequent flier miles to an airline partner. Go to americanexpress.com and sign in using your User ID and password. In the scroll box under password, choose "Membership Rewards." Click the "Log In" button.

Check the "Available Points" in the upper right hand corner of the page. Go to the "Use Points" tab and choose the category you'd like to browse.

Select the reward that interests you. Click on the reward. Read the restrictions. Check the box stating, "I have read the restrictions."

Click on the "Add to Cart" button. Repeat steps until you have filled your cart to satisfaction. Click on "Proceed to Checkout."

Type in your four-digit card ID number for security purposes. Click "Continue." Confirm your delivery address is correct. Click "Continue."

Select the delivery method you desire. Click "Continue." Type in your daytime phone number and email address. Click "Continue."

Verify all information is accurate. Click "Redeem." You will be directed to a closing page, and receive a confirmation email regarding the transaction.
