Stretch marks result when your skin's collagen breaks down due to rapid weight gain. Stretch marks are a common result of pregnancy. Stretch marks appear as tears in the dermis layer of your skin. As your skin stretches, these tears stretch towards the top layer of your skin, called the epidermis. It is impossible to remove stretch marks completely without surgery. However, concealing stretch marks is moderately easy.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Conceal your stretch marks with clothing. Hide your stretch marks by opting for mid-rise pants instead of low-rise cuts. Mid-rise pants provide more coverage to areas that are prone to stretch marks, namely your belly. Pair your mid-rise pants with a longer shirt. The shirt should come down to the widest part of your hips. This helps you conceal any stretch marks that may appear when you raise your arms and your shirt lifts up to expose your abs.

  2. Step 2

Wear a tankini. Tankinis can often be mixed and matched, and they're not matronly, as some one-piece swimsuits tend to be. Choose a tankini top and bottom to cover part, or all, of your belly.

  3. Step 3

Apply a water-proof concealer that's designed to conceal stretch marks. These concealers stay put when you swim or sweat. Mix and match your stretch mark concealer to match your skin tone exactly.

  4. Step 4

Wear a sarong to conceal stretch marks on your legs. Sarongs come in short or long styles. Board-shorts are another way to conceal stretch marks on your legs.

Tips & Warnings
  • Avoid the sun and always use sunblock. Sunburns and tans make stretchmarks appear more pronounced.
