Download and install Front End Convert Drop. This is a freeware program so you do not have to pay to use or keep it.

Launch Front End Convert Drop on your Mac. It will be a small screen with very few options.

Open "Finder" on your Mac and navigate to the location of your MPG files. Then drag and drop the MPG file onto the area of the Front End Convert Drop screen that reads "Current File." Only one file can convert at a time on Front End Convert Drop.

Pull down the menu by "Convert To." Select "MP4" as your output file format from the available options.

Click the "Convert" button to start the conversion. The progress will appear on the screen as it converts. A message will appear once the conversion is complete. Then you can use the new MP4 file you created.
