How to Draw Skelanimals

Skelanimals are cartoon drawings of animals as skeletons. They are meant to be cute, not scary. Skelanimals is a brand that markets the skelanimal images, printing them on clothing, stationary and accessories. Drawing a skelanimal is simple to do, by breaking down the basic cartoon shapes and building the image from there.

Things You'll Need

• Pencil Eraser Ruler Paper

Instructions

1. 

   Draw a slightly flattened circle, about 3 cm in diameter. Below it, draw a 2-inch square.

2. 

   Draw a border around the circle and square. At the top of the border, draw two slightly rounded triangles. These are the skelanimal's cat ears.

3. 

   Draw two circles for eyes and a heart-shaped nose hole inside the flattened circle. Draw a small square as the chin bone below the flattened circle, approximately the same diameter as the heart-shaped nose hole. Draw a heart below the chin bone, and a tail shaped like an apostrophe, coming out from the bottom right of the cat skelanimal, about the same height as the skelanimal's body.

4. 

   Draw the arms and hands of the skelanimal. The two upper arm bones are shaped like drumsticks. The skelanimal's hand bones look like squares that were pinched in at the sides. Draw three small circles below the hand bones of the skelanimal, for the paws.

5. 

   Color in the skelanimal's eyes and nose. Color in the rest of the skelanimal's body, except for the skull, arm and hand bones, and the heart.
