Otherwise, you might pay a great deal for your ring, only to find that it is either too loose, or too tight for your finger. Though you can have your ring resized by a jeweler, it will cost more. Instructions

    • 1

Use a ring size chart if you already own a ring that fits you perfectly. Print out a ring size chart from an online jewelry retailer such as eBay.com (see link in Resources section). To use the chart, place your ring over the circles until you find the best size match.

    • 2

Navigate to the eBay guide for its free ring sizer (see link in Resources section) if you don't have a ring you can use. Click the option "Measure Ring Size With a Finger Size Strip."

    • 3

Print the free ring sizer from your computer. Make sure the "fit to page" option is left unchecked when you are printing.

    • 4

Cut the strip along the lines indicated.

    • 5

Create a slit where it says "Cut Here." Slide the narrower end of the strip through the slit.

    • 6

Create a loop with the ring sizer with the numbers facing outward so you can easily view the numbers while you are wearing the ring sizer.

    • 7

Slip the ring sizer around the finger you wish to size to find out your size. The fit should be snug but comfortable. Most ring sizers have whole sizes and half sizes. Look closely to see if you fall on a half size.

Tips & Warnings

  • Once you find your ring size, go to the jewelry store and try on your ring in your size. Ideally, the ring will fit perfectly on your finger. However, there may be a chance that it will not. If so, ask the store assistant for a ring sizer to determine your ring size. Though the ring fits perfectly now, it might not fit in the future because of weight fluctuations. Ask the jewelry store if they can help you resize your ring.
