Things You'll Need:
- Ice packs
- Heat wraps
-
Step 1
REST. Resting is the best and easiest way to treat a pulled groin. The injured groin needs time to heal. Activities that caused the injury should be avoided.
-
Step 2
STRETCH. Stretching can be helpful, but it should not hurt. Over stretching can be harmful and slow the healing.
-
Step 3
ICE. Apply ice during the first 48 hours. Don't leave ice on an area for too long (more than 15 min), it can damage your skin.
-
Step 4
HEAT. Before activities, use heat to loosen the muscle. Apply a heat pack to the groin prior to stretching or exercising. Remember - Heat before, Ice after.
-
Step 5
Take an anti-inflammatory medication, such as Ibuprofen, Alieve, or Motrin.
