Fresh cantaloupe makes a great snack when you watch movies at home or have friends over. It is a great easy snack that is inexpensive and healthy for you and your whole family.

  1. Step 1

    Doesn't it drive you just crazy when you pick out a cantaloupe from the store bring it home slice it open and it tastes hard and bland? Not sweet at all. These easy steps will have you tasting ripe juicy cantaloupe every time.

  2. Step 2

    Late spring or summer is the best time to search for whole fresh cantaloupe in your grocery store.

  3. Step 3

    Look for a cantaloupe that is the size that you would like and that has some what of a yellow color on the outside of the fruit.

  4. Step 4

    Pick up the cantaloupe and examine it. It should not have any soft spots or feel too hard. Smell the end of the cantaloupe where the stem was located. If you can smell the sweetness of the cantaloupe you have picked a ripe cantaloupe.

  5. Step 5

    These tips should have you picking a ripe pineapple every time. Use cantaloupe in your salad or make healthy fruit kabobs by scooping out
    melon balls. Try a twist a lemon with your cantaloupe to enhance its sweet taste.
