Step 1
TemplateDownload a template. Click the link in the resource section below to download a ready-made template for printing on post-it notes. You can make your own template by making a one-cell table that is 2.5 inches wide and 2.7 inches high (the size of a post-it note).
-
Step 2
Edit templateEdit the template. The template at the link provides a generic “ticket out the door.” You can customize it by typing in your own questions. Get the students to think about what was just learned and then write about it. When editing, make sure to retain the size of each box.
-
Step 3
Add post-it notesPrint the template. Print the document as you normally would. Do not add post-it notes yet. Once printed, apply a post-it note over each “ticket out.”
-
Step 4
Print againRe-Print. Place the document with the post-it notes firmly attached into the manual feeder of your printer. Print the document again.
-
Step 5
Custom exit ticketsRepeat as needed. Make enough post-it notes for each student in your class. Use your custom “ticket out the door” post-it note to wrap up a lesson and assess learning.
