Your kitten is already trained to use the litter box, but your finding him playing with what is left inside? This can be a common cause for kittens that do not have anything better to occupy their time with.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

The most important step is to keep the litter box as clean as possible. To prevent your kitten from going back to the litter box to play with what is inside, remove waste as soon as possible. If your kitten tries to play with the litter while you are cleaning it out, then move them into another room.

  2. Step 2

One of the reasons your kitten is more concerned with what is inside the litter box is most likely because it does not have anything else to be intrigued by. Kittens need toys to entertain themselves, make sure your kitten has a few toys that it enjoys playing with.

  3. Step 3

Spend time playing with your kitten, they love attention. Simply dangling something in front of their face usually gets them excited.

Tips & Warnings
  • Check labels of toys, it is not recommended that kittens be given catnip.
