1. Call your local gas company, ask to be on a budget.
   If the budget is still to much ask the representative if they offer further assistance.

2. Follow up with the lead they give you, fill out the application and fax whatever information they request. (in Pa this is called a CAP program) this service can reduce your monthly bill by 50%.

3. If all else fails contact your local department of public welfare, they can help in most cases, they even have programs for grants that will stop a pending shut off.

4. You can also try your local resources such as American red cross, salvation army and a local church.
