Setting up an i Google home page allows you to search the web, check email, news and weather, see videos, store bookmarks for your favorite websites, and even play games – all from your very own personalized internet browser home page. It’s quick and easy to set up your i Google homepage, and once you do, you’ll be able to choose from a multitude of fun and useful gadgets to add to your page.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • An internet connection
  • Under 30 seconds (according to the i Google setup wizard)
  1. Step 1

Sign up for a free Gmail (google mail) account, if you don’t have one already. Once you have a Gmail account, you will be using the same username and password to log in to your personalized i Google home page.

  2. Step 2

Go to the i Google setup wizard. (You can use the link to the i Google setup wizard in the Resources section below.) Choose the interests that apply to you, and pick a theme (sometimes referred to as a skin) to give your i Google home page a customized appearance.

  3. Step 3

Click “See Your Page”. What you see is the basic layout of your i Google home page. Now you can start adding gadgets that will help you do the things you want to do from one convenient spot – your internet home page!

  4. Step 4

Make sure your i Google home page is selected as the homepage in your internet browser, if you haven’t already.

  5. Step 5

Get more i google gadgets! There are lots of great gadgets out there – start browsing and find ways to further customize your new i Google home page.

Tips & Warnings
  • Remember, if you are not logged into i Google, you will only be saving your customizations to your own computer. If you want to see your personalized i Google home page when you are logged in from any computer, be sure to log in before setting up your page.
  • Always remember to log out when you are finished using i Google on a public computer, or your Gmail will be accessible to others!
