How to Get Digital Television on Your Computer

Any personal computer can become a full fledged jam packed cool media center by adding digital television to the lineup. In order to watch digital tv on your PC you will need a tv tuner.

1. The easiest way to add television to a personal computer is to obtain a television tuner. This works out great and is very easy. If you already own a large screen computer monitor even better. It's like having a new
   digital television for about 1/3 the cost. Easily watch TV anytime. Even record, playback.

2. Television tuners come in PCI models (internal) and USB models (external). In this example we use an USB tuner.

3. Obtain a USB tuner at a local electronics or computer store like Radio Shack. A few models are similar in size and look like a flash drive. One popular model is AVerMedia AverTV Hybrid Volar Max. Cost about $80. Or the Pinnacles PC TV USB Stick which cost a bit more.

4. Plug the USB tuner into your computer. Many USB tuners allow you to record and save programs to playback whenever you like. Movies and programs can also be recorded in Mpeg format.
