Step 1
Most ear infections are caused by a bacterium called streptocoocus pneumoniae. A sign of a child having an ear infection is the child having a lot of fussyness involving your child or children pulling at one or both of his ears. When you notice this is it time to take the steps to treating an ear infection.
-
Step 2
In most cases, a mild ear infection will clear up on its own, therefore give the ear infection 2 to 3 days to see if it will clear up on its own and if not then take your child to the doctor.
-
Step 3
If your childs ears doesnt clear up on its own your doctor will more than likely put your child on a prescription medication to try to fight the bacteria.
-
Step 4
If within a couple of weeks to a month if your childs ear infection doesnt go away your doctor will more than likely do an ear tap on your child. This test will see exactly what is going on with your childrens ear. If needed your doctor will either choose to drain your childs ear or refer your child to have tubes placed in there ears for the draining of all fluid at all times.

Step 5
There is other remedies such as over the counter medications and advise but this is the best pattern to follow, it is always safer to follow your doctors order than anyone else. I hope this will help someone out.
