Things You'll Need:
- Firefox browser
- An Internet connection
-
Step 1
Several Pages Open in TabsTo open a page in a new tab means that you can have more than one browser window and website open in a browser at a time. This is a time saver if you often use more than one site at a time.
-
Step 2
Firefox Preferences for TabsYou can set the Firefox Preferences to open new pages in a new tab. In Preferences, select the radio button for "a new tab" under New Pages.
-
Step 3
Get a New TabYou can also open a page in a new tab, even if your Preferences aren't set that way, by right-clicking (Ctrl-click on a Mac) and selecting "Open link in new tab" from the contextual menu that pops up.
-
Step 4
If you have a folder of bookmarks, you can open them all at once in Tabs. This is nice if you always open up the same set of pages when you start working. You can make them all open quickly using folders and tabs.
-
Step 5
Create a New FolderIf you don't have a folder containing a group of bookmarks you want to open together, go to Bookmarks > Organize Bookmarks. Select the Bookmarks menu item in the left column. Then find the gear icon and click the down arrow to see the menu. Select "New Folder" from that menu and name the new folder according to your needs.
-
Step 6
Save bookmarks to this folder for each page that you want to group for quick opening in Tabs.
-
Step 7
Open All in TabsAn alternative method to steps 5 and 6 is to open all the sites you want in tabs. Then choose Bookmark > Bookmark All Tabs. The browser will ask you to create a name for the folder that will be hold these new bookmarks.
-
Step 8
Open All in TabsWhen you are ready to open the bookmarks in Tabs, select the folder, then find the link at the bottom of the set of bookmarks that says "Open all in tabs." Select "Open all in Tabs" and all the bookmarks in the folder will open immediately.
