How to Hide Money and Valuables Around Your Home

Hide valuables where thieves are less likely to look for them.

Whether you're going out of town or just want an everyday place to hide cash and valuables from potential home invaders, you can find options throughout your house. Just place the items in a zippered storage bag to help secure them.

Things You'll Need

• Zippered storage bags
• Tape

Instructions

1. Lift out a ceiling-tile panel and tape the packaged item to the back.

2. Place the bagged item in the water compartment of your coffee maker. Just remember to remove the item before using the coffee maker.

3. Tape the bagged valuables to the back of your refrigerator, or put it into an empty box of baking soda within the fridge.

4. Place the items into an empty and cleaned ice cream carton.

5. Attach the bag to the bottom of the sink held within a cabinet. The back underside is even better.

6. Avoid places that can be easily turned over or are a target to be rummaged.

Tips & Warnings

• The refrigerator method can act as sort or a "savings account" for you, too. It's a lot of trouble to get to any cash back there, so you're less likely to spend it if you don't have to.

• Use freezer bags for heavier items so the bag is less likely to rip.
