How to Hook a XBox 360 to a Laptop
There are a couple of reasons to hook up an Xbox 360 video game console to a laptop computer. One of the more popular reasons is to use the laptop computer's wireless Internet so the console can connect to Xbox Live for multi-player gaming. It is also possible to hook the two devices together to use the laptop as your video monitor. You will need a video capture card for the laptop in order to do this.

1
Connect the Xbox 360 console and the laptop computer together through an Ethernet cable. Plug the cable into the Ethernet ports on both devices.

Connecting to Monitor
-
4
Connect a video capture card to the laptop computer. It can either be a card that is inserted into the laptop's PCI card slot, or an external one with a USB connection. If you are using a Mac laptop, you will need the external card.
-
5
Install the drivers for the card onto the laptop. This software will be on a CD-ROM included with the card. It will also include an application to be installed that works as a media player for the card.
-
6
Link the Xbox 360 console to the laptop computer with the console's A/V cable, connecting the cable's RCA composite plugs to the ports on the video capture card.
-
7
Open up the capture card's media player, or open your own media player on the computer. Make sure you can access the capture card as a driver on that application (Some cards will work with applications like Quicktime or Windows Media, but not with all applications.)
-
8
Turn on the Xbox 360 console, and look for its picture to appear on the application's video screen. Use the application's option to expand to a full screen version for the best picture.
