How to Mount Unmounted Rubber Stamps

Unmounted stamp sheets are less expensive than individual mounted stamps, and there is often a larger choice in designs. Unmounted stamps come in opaque rubber versions, which are the least expensive type. They need to be affixed to a mounting block. Acrylic is the most common mount for unmounted rubber stamps. Acrylic blocks and mounting adhesive are available at most craft and scrapbooking stores.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

• Stamp set
• Acrylic block
• Adhesive mounting cushion
• Scissors

1. Carefully cut out the stamp die leaving a small lip around it. Be careful not to undercut the stamp.

2. Cut out a square or rectangle of mounting cushion larger than the die.

3. Peel the paper backing off of one side of the mounting cushion. Attach the stamp to it, die side out.

4. Trim the mounting cushion around the stamp angling out from it. Do not undercut the stamp.

5. Peel the backing paper off the other side of the mounting cushion. Press it onto the center of the acrylic block.

Tips & Warnings

• You can also mount your stamps on wood blocks.
• Use sharp scissors or you may damage the stamp sheet.
