1
Choose a location that is familiar to the baby. New surroundings may make the baby uncomfortable or anxious. Home is likely the best place for the party and will also mean less hassle for mommy and daddy.
-
2
Invite the right number of guests. This will vary depending on the baby's temperament, but most infants have a hard time with too many people around or too much noise. Keep things simple so that more time can be spent celebrating with the birthday boy.

3
Request the presence of other family members. Although the little fellow probably doesn't have a whole lot of friends just yet, there are a number of people besides the immediate family who might be interested in meeting to celebrate the special day. Aunts, uncles, grandparents and cousins can all help celebrate.

Plan the party around a favorite theme. If there is a special toy such as a fire truck or a cartoon character the baby boy adores, plan the party around this. For example, if fire trucks are what drives him crazy, bake a fire engine birthday cake, use fire engine party favors, and instead of the standard cone hat, use fire fighter hats with Engine One printed on the front badge.

5
Create a birthday scrapbook that includes items from the party. This will include photos, of course, but also funny things that were said by guests, a list of those who attended, gifts that were given, funny things the birthday boy did and even unusual items like receipts, which can be a source of amusement 40 years down the line.

Develop the baby's motor skills while celebrating. Birthdays are a great excuse for simple child development through the use of music, bright colors and especially tactile exercises such as new toys to touch and throw on the floor or a bit of water to splash in.
